EXCELLENT Based on 39 reviews Posted on Josep Maria MVerified A professional and friendly team We travelled with Sonam’s company, guided by Tshewang and driven by Jigdrel. Always with a smile, making sure we had everything we needed… in the end we all ended up singing together along the way. A professional and friendly team. A big hug.Four unforgettable days of trekking, immersed in Buddhist culture, its people, and its landscapes… Highly recommended.Posted on GoPlaces37754886146Verified Spiritual trip to Bhutan We were mostly interested in spiritual Bhutan and our guide did everything he could to take us to the most interesting places, for us to meet monks, and have blessing ceremonies organized for us.The team was very flexible and always providing options on days when we felt like not following the original plan. The team delivered the experience that was on paper but also many smaller attentions and experiences that made this trip very specialPosted on Karen CVerified Exceptional guide services and an incredible Bhutan Experience I recently returned from the 2025 Women's Quest trip to Bhutan which was guided by Toby Sonam with To Bhutan guide services. Toby worked with the Women's Quest founder, Colleen Cannon, to provide us with a wide variety of opportunities ranging from the physical, (hiking, biking and rafting), to the spiritual including various Buddhist temples, monasteries, festivals and a nunnery. Toby and his tour companions were physically in great shape and were knowledgeable about the area and its history as well as the history of Buddhism. The transportation, food and lodging arranged by Toby was great and included a variety of settings ranging from a local farmhouse to a luxury resort. Toby and his staff were extremely attentive to the group's needs even including us with traditional festival formal wear.I not only recommend a visit to Bhutan for a once in a lifetime experience but I also can’t praise enough the benefit of working with To Bhutan.Posted on GoPlaces56321306788Verified Fantastic 3th time We had an amazing 3th experience!!! We travelled all the way to Merak and Sakten. On the way we explored Mongar, Lhuentse and many more other places. Sonam and Jimmy made it so much more fantastic. They do everything in there power to make you feel like family and more. Friends for life! I can recomment Sonam from to bhutan to everybody. He knows so much about his country, culture and buddhism. He knows what you like best and organize the trip you love. We hope to come back for more! Bhutan has so much to offer. Kardinshela dear friends!Posted on Anne HVerified An inspiring guide and lessons on life Tobee Sonam epitomizes the delightful, kind, gentle and highly informed Bhutanese guide one hopes to find when landing in a foreign country . Every question and request was throughly addressed down to cleaning off our shoes after a muddy hike. We sat in the front row of a huge festival in Paro and were given local dress to wear to the ceremony. One friend had an injury and Tobee effortlessly change our schedule to accommodate her needs. He was at her side, to make sure she didn’t miss a thing. We rafted, we were treated to a retired monk’s prophesy in his remote home, we saw yaks, black faced monkeys, milked cows, learned to make chili cheese, were taught many of the elements of Buddhism and sampled various outdoor markets. We laughed a lot and all left with a warm place in our hearts for him and his beautiful countrymen. I couldn’t recommend him any higher. The trip was all I hoped for and so much more.Posted on richard wVerified The very best way to see Bhutan and enjoy its splendors Highly recommend this most extraordinary tour company and its dynamic leader Sonam Toby. He put together the perfect 10 day tour for our group that included hiking , temples , fortresses , rafting , heritage sites and museums, a visit with a noted lama where we received blessings , wildlife sightings of monkeys , yaks , takins and black neck cranes , a stay at a local farmhouse, and finally a successful hike to Tiger‘s Nest and front row seats at the Paro festival. He was always considerate and responsive to what we wanted to do. And he was so knowledgeable and informative . His love for his country and its wonderful people was always on display and we were the most lucky beneficiaries of seeing his country through his eyes and ours. I can’t recommend him highly enough . One of a kind !Posted on CuriosityCatVerified A wonderful experience with To Bhutan It was our second trip to Bhutan, this time with another couple of friends. While we really loved the country itself on our first trip it was no comparison to this one with Toby. He is just so informative, so helpful, so thoughtful..we loved every minute. On our first trip our guide was more interested in chatting to the driver than us...on this second trip it was clear that we were Toby's top priority. He made sure we were in the best spot at festivals, helped enthusiastically with quirky requests ( can we pick some asparagus, can we go into the kitchen, can we arrange a fertility blessing ceremony ( it worked!), where can we buy antique/special textiles etc. etc), and cheerfully fielded a million questions. His good humour and his pride in his country and his religion made every day special. Not to mention the ever ready cups of steaming hot ginger tea! From the initial planning to the trip itself, we can't recommend Toby and To Bhutan highly enough.Posted on cts0hVerified Good guide and services We recently went to Bhutan with another couple friends. It's 6D7N trip in end Dec 24 that crossed over 2025. Sonam helped us plan for the trip and made the whole process hassle-free. Sonam , our guide and Ugyen, our skillful driver accompanied us throughout the trip. They were very patient and took good care of us throughout the trip. Bhutan is a beautiful country with incredible nature, fascinating history, and rich culture . We were very satisfied with their services and highly recommend ToBhutan and Sonam!Posted on Araxie CVerified What an amazing trip! I recently traveled to Bhutan with my family for 17 days. It was a dream vacation for us, and even so it exceeded expectations! Bhutan is a beautiful country with incredible nature, fascinating history, and rich culture and living traditions and even our long trip left us wanting to come back and see more. Sonam helped us plan the trip and made the whole process very smooth, including fitting in everything we wanted to see on the itinerary, dealing with schedule changes and many requests to add and change things, and getting our visas and flights. Our guide Dawa was incredible, adjusting the itinerary as we went to find us the best experiences based on our interests and hiking abilities, sharing her knowledge and love for the country, and making us always feel welcome and taken care of. She's also a great storyteller and had us fascinated at every site we went to! Our driver was amazing too, with some of the best mountain driving I've seen so far. Some highlights for me were hiking to the legendary floating statue of Dorji Phamo, staying at a monastery where we got a meditation class from one of the monks, seeing the Himalayas for the first time, and the many hikes to different temples, monasteries and other sites where we got to experience the beautiful nature and culture at the same time. Thank you so much to the ToBhutan team, we can't wait to come back!Posted on slomo_scooterbabeVerified Great tour and guide! Our two families (six people) travelled through Bhutan for five days guided by Sonam and driven by Ugyen. We enjoyed a fantastic trip that efficiently utilized our time and showed us the beauty, history, spirituality, and culture of Bhutan. Having taken guided tours of a variety of countries, Sonam is by far the best tour guide we have had. Ugyen was very kind and helped one of us slowly navigate terrain on a hike despite some physical limitations. Sonam and Ugyen were both very patient with our need for extra time or explanations. We highly recommend ToBhutan and Sonam!
